All The Best Medellin Restaurants By Category

This blog post is updated 3x yearly and highlights the best Medellin restaurant. It is sponsored by The Belmonte Penthouse, a 4-bed, 4-bath luxury rental in Provenza with a hot tub, sound system, English-fluent concierge, daily cleaning, and dimmable lighting throughout. Book direct for discounts.

Welcome to the undiscovered foodie paradise of the world, where you can find quality steaks for $10, tasty vegan food, ribs specialists, and even legit Chinese fast food.

When it comes to dining in MedellĂn, they have it all. Eat next to a river, eat at a restaurant with a view of the Medellin skyline, fine dining, Turkish food, Indian food, and street food. These are the best Medellin restaurants and the only ones I recommend (plus some that I don’t)!

Be sure to scroll to the bottom for updates on new restaurants in Medellin that I find.

The next restaurants on my list are:

  • La Mayoria – live horse shoes
    • There’s another located in Aranjuez called
  • In Situ – Local, in botanical gardens
  • Ritwal – new, fancy, with Medellin views, outdoor dining
  • El Bosque era Rosada – eat in a forest
  • EfĂmero Casa de Comida – not in Medellin, recommende by a motorcycle buddy
  • SalĂłn Centro – curiously located in el Centro, short menu, fish from choco, colombian wine
  • La Makha – in Binn hotel
  • any others? Tell me in the comments or here, please!

What is my ideal restaurant? I think it’s simple:

  • A focus on fresh, organic, (probably) local ingredients
  • A small menu (restaurants don’t make good jack-of-all-trades)
  • Open kitchen design
  • Comfy seating
  • Something unique about the food or dining experience (why would I choose your grill or pizzeria or hamburgesueria over the dozen other ones in your neighborhood?)

Sambombi | Farm-to-table

sambombi recommending dinner dining in medellin farm fresh organic to table provenza poblado

Sitting at the bar next to two female diners, looking directly into the kitchen when I realize: if you’re a restaurant owner who’s willing to let customers see your private parts, this is a good.

My kale salad and grilled chicken arrived without wait. Instantly, I noticed something different about the chicken. I summoned the waitress, asking if there was a story behind the food. I wanted to keep the question open-ended, and she said yes.

top best medellin restaurants sambombi in provenza fish and chicken kale salads

The food is all locally sourced from sustainable and organic farms. When one says this, in our world, you have to be suspicious because you know that they know this is the right answer. Organic, most of the time, is a marketing term. I inquired more and was satisfied with her answers, especially the part about the menu constantly changing depending on the food they have at any given time.

I’d been back as soon as a few days apart, and there is a constant rotation on the menu. You could eat here every day and never repeat a dish.

And if that weren’t enough, they have watermelon juice – one of the only restaurants in the entire city with this option.

For these reasons, Sambombi is my new top-rated restaurant in Medellin, located in the upscale Provenza district of the Poblado neighborhood and only 45-seconds walk from The Belmonte Penthouse.

It’s also a suitable date spot with a nice selection of wine, soft music, comfy seats, and semi-private dining.

Also Recommended: Restaurante IdĂlico, located in barrio Manila, claims to serve only local products from the MedellĂn area, and the fish comes from the Pacific coast. The menu changes every 6 months. It’s the less-famous version of Sambombi, although the prices are similar. For two, the price was 330,000 COP or $80.

La Chagra | Amazonian

Carrera 34, one block from The Belmonte Penthouse, hosts the best restaurants in Medellin. From here on out, we call it Restaurant Street. It’s one block with a variety of really quality restaurants. You’ll find Peruvian, Middle Eastern, a steakhouse, Asian, Mexican, fusion, and even a pork-only restaurant. But none of those compare to hidden gem and the best restaurant in Medellin La Chagra (renamed from Jura Kub), serving Amazonian food with a flare.

Now, this is a famous street. Botanico and Relato, located in the middle of this street, are maybe the two most famous restaurants in Medellin.

But La Chagra is unknown. Even people who know this street, don’t know La Chagra. First, it’s the only restaurant on the other side of the street. And it’s visually underwhelming from the outside.

You’d walk right by it and either not notice it, or not be inspired to enter. Even the entrance is unspectacular. You enter from the neighbor’s patio, make a 90-degree left turn into what seems like a rundown home, then a 90-degree right turn into the patio of the restaurant.

In fact, I just ate on this street with the owner of the hotel across the street from The Belmonte Penthouse, a self-proclaimed foodie, and she had no idea the restaurant was even there. She’s probably eaten on that street dozens of times. Amazing!

It’s truly a hidden gem restaurant, but it’s more than that. It’s an experience. But you’re going to pay for it. Each drink costs about 50-60K COP ($15) and a meal to share for two could be 200K COP ($55). As I mentioned, it’s more than a meal. It’s like a show with the majority of dishes coming with fire, exquisite presentations, dry ice, or some other visual feat. You’ll be welcomed with an alcoholic digestive firey drink on the house.

La Chagra is best described with a video. In the meantime, here are some photos:

Zombra | Responsible Dining

zombra local product cooking dining medellin pobaldo restaurants

Upon entering, the minimalist design communicates uniqueness. Then you see the menu with prices around $10 per plate, and something doesn’t add up.

The idea behind Zombra is to blend ingredients and flavors not typically paired.

I had to talk with the chef, who came out for a photo. He explained in granular detail about the products he sources, where they come from, down to the type of reusable material he wants the menus to use. This type of attention to detail shows in his cooking.

I had one last question: do you source the ingredients then the plates or do you come up with the plates and then find the ingrededients? There is a right answer and the chef answered correctly. You see what’s available in the market and create dishes from that selection.

I LOVE when the chef sources his food locally. Zombra is now a rival to Sambombi for me. They have an executive lunch menu del dia for $15. Comfy chairs, quiet atmosphere, good service, all-around one of the top restaurants in Medellin.

The cost for two without alcohol was $70. I usually don’t order dessert, so I had to post the photo here.

Tacos el charro del 8

best mexcian tacos in medellin

It took me 6 years to find this taco shop in Medellin, and it was gone from Poblado in 6 weeks. Now located in Aranjuez, about 15-45 minutes from Poblado, depending on traffic. I like simple, plain Mexican tacos. Everyone is fancying them up nowadays.

Tortilla, cilantro, parsley, selection of meat, and optional lime. That’s it.

Highly recommend the chicharron tacos.

The only improvement here is adding a few more salsa options. Currently, they have only three, but to be perfect they need five salsa options.

678 Korean BBQ

*Recently renovated

This is my favorite restaurant in Medellin and the only “cook-it-yourself” one that I’m aware of.

It’s hidden on a cul-de-sac though still busy. The word is out on this one. In fact, you may need reservations.

If you don’t know how Korean BBQ works, you order a selection of meats and it comes with bao buns, lettuce, mouth-watering sauces, rice, and other accouterments. There’s a grill in the center of the table, cook at a pace you wish and enjoy with some Soju, Korean liquor.

Mombasa | Best Design

Mombasa, a coastal city in Kenya, is on-par and probably beating the Le Noir brand (cafe, spa) in terms of design. The complex attention to detail is astounding. Every corner and crevice is layered in color, texture, framing, and lighting.

Down to the drinks, I’ve never seen anything like it. Time to go to Africa or this will ruin my expectations?

If you’re wondering why this is the only dining recommendation without a photo of the food, well, the design was brigher than the menu.

Next door to Mombosa is a small second-level nightclub called Afrodesia with equally awesome design that I recommend you check out. Unfortunately, they usually charge a cover and you’ll want to wear earplugs.

Amsterdam Plaza | Dining Shopping Center

Amsterdam plaza is the newest dining addition to Medellin opened in late 2021. It’s a shopping mall dedicated to dining. There is a mix of options there from casual to fine dining.

When I visited, I saw Mexican, Peruvian, a few Asian food options, a steakhouse, and I’m sure there are some more options.

I ate at Sushi Market and for two people it was only 115,000 COP or about $30 including a vase of Saki containing 8 small shots.

Cuon | Modern Asian Fusion

fine dining in poblado cuon asian fushion desert

This is my favorite Asian restaurant in the city. Its menu is probably 20 pages long, but it has an excellent variety, laid out well, and all delicious. I’ve been there a dozen times. It’s got an outdoor, romantic, dimly lit area plus an indoor room in front of the open kitchen with a couch, in case you wanted to sit next to your date. Located in the wonderful neighborhood of Astorga.

They used to have a somewhat hidden bar and lounge on the upper level, in the back, but as I understand it, that no longer exists. I’m currently not in Medellin, can you confirm in the comments?

EGEO | Mediterranean

egeo medetarranean food click clack hotel

I’m not personally a fan of Mediterranean food, but my friend loves this spot and insisted on going. For that, it’s worth a try, though I have nothing overly special, positive, or negatively to say. For two people and one drink at dinner, the cost was ~$94.

Roll Up | Shushi Reimagined

Sushi burrito? Sushi hamburger? Sushi cocktail? Sushi dessert? Sushi taco, pizza, anything you can think of, even traditional sushi is served here.

Moderately priced, open as a walk-in style causal dining experience, I recommend it for the Instagram photos alone. Just wait to see how many replies you get from your followers when you post a photo like this.

Cabra Andaluz | Tent Dining

best dining in medellin cabra andaluz belisario restaurant

I’ve got two authentically Colombian restaurants for you. Cabra Andaluz is the fancier and hipper of the two. It’s more the place to be seen. It’s part of the Somos Belisario group, which has a dozen higher-end restaurants in Medellin.

Overall, the experience was pleasant; well done, but nothing extraordinary or memorable. As you can see, I went with three friends. The service was good, the seating was comfy, and the menu has everything from steak to indian options.

I have nothing overly positive nor overly negative to say. A tasteful experience. The food was good, but the food is supposed to be good, right?

It’s a bit of a nightmare to get to either on a motorcycle (gravel, uneven, uphill, and no lights) or by car (Uber’s are likely to get lost), so you might want to have the waiter call a taxi, which is sure to arrive on time and know the restaurant location. My friends waited 15+ minutes while coordinating with their Ubers.

Casa Eterno | Maluma Owned

Drivable in about 35 minutes from Poblado, Casa Eterno opens at 12pm, but is definitely an evening spot with a stage.

I arrived around 2pm and only a few people were there.

The design is high-end and I loved the bathroom decor.

There’s an outdoor seating area with a decent view and a play area for the kids. Casa Eterna is pet friendly.

I orered the ravioli’s and the patacones. Also, a few coffees. They were fine.

Marmaleo | Traditional Colombian Steakhouse

la picada marmaleo colombian traditional resto dining in poblado medellin

My Colombian friend took me here, so you know it’s authentic. Marmaleo is located in the hills of Poblado, but only about 15 minutes without traffic. Above is the ‘picada’ I ordered, one of my favorite Colombian dishes. It’s meant for three. At 175,000 pesos (~$15 per person), you can’t beat it.

Live music, Colombian hacienda vibes, affordable, and one of the most famous restaurants in Medellin. They give a complementary arepa de moto with guacamole and hogao. I don’t know what it is besides delicious. My only knock, which is a big one, is that they have only one chair option, which is upright and uncomfortable.

Alternate: La Otra EstaciĂłn. Authentic, hole-in-the-wall Colombian food and vibe right in the middle of Poblado. You’ll be the only foreigner. They open at 4pm all days. It’s very cheap and tasty. It’s not going to be the healthy option, though.

This menu is recent. Yes, $0.25 empanadas. They are the two items to the left of the cheese bread. Your order comes with three types of Aji, traditional Colombian salsa.

Bao Bei | Contemporary Asian

bao bei contemporary asian food dining parque lleras

Don’t just show up here for two reasons. First, reservations are required for this popular hole-in-the-wall joint. Even with reservations, plan on getting a drink nearby and waiting an extra 20-40 minutes. Second, the schedule is limited. There’s a ramen place next door that I frequent and ever time I’ve been there, I’ve seen a disappointed soul stand in front of the door to Bao Bei during diner time and cursing their luck.

The owner is still cooking away in the kitchen of this authentic, contemporary Asian food restaurant in Medellin. If you know me, you know I’m absolutely not a foodie. But I admit the food here was astoundingly delicious.

Mercado del Rio | Fancy Food Court

A multi-level western-style food court with numerous different food options and indoor/outdoor seating. There is a bar on the upper level overlooking the entire location. It’s going to be more expensive than normal Colombian prices, but it’s also close enough where you don’t have to worry about much planning or traffic.

El Cielo Trio | Famous Chef Owned

El Cielo is a hotel and restaurant, but there’s two additional restaurants inside. The first, El Bistro Tropical, is in the front of the hotel. I’ve been here many times. It’s a cafe during the day. The third restaurnat added in 2025 is Italian located at the back and downstairs. It’s intmate with only 6 tables.

Picnic Medellin | Outdoor Dining With View

About a 30-minute drive from The Belmonte Penthouse, imagine a picnic scene with a nice view of MedellĂn. You pick a selection of grilled meats or patacones (just order them, trust me) and enjoy them with great conversation and a lovely view.

Also a good date spot. Be sure to check the weather, as the experience is mostly ruined with rain. If you want to up the romantics, you can rent a selection of a few small cabanas that are more private.

Alambique | Creative Colombian

This is in the upstairs part of an art studio. Look for the sign that reads “Alambique” on the front of the building.

They make traditional Colombian food with a modern twist. The portions are large. The ambiance is tranquil. The prices are fair. The seating is comfy.

There is one small table on the upper level which is super private and romantic and set a little higher than everyone else. If you’re looking to up the ante, be sure to reserve this spot as it’s going to be the best seat in the restaurant.

Truchera Arcoiris | Catch A Fish

Unfortunately, I haven’t yet been to this one either. But, again, it’s too cool not to include on my list of best restaurants in Medellin.

Here you fish to catch your own trout and they cook it for you on the spot.

Have you been there? Tell me about it in the comments.

Colosal Restaurante | Medellin Views

If you want a combination of high service, excellent views of Medellin and delicious food, here you go. Let me serve it to you on a silver platter.

But you pay for what you get here. It’s pricey. This is a rather famous restaurant so you may have already been recommended this one so I won’t go on about it.

Only a 10-minute drive from The Belmonte Penthouse.

Poke Bowl | “Hawaiian Sushi”

For a quick, tasty, cheap bite near The Belmonte Penthouse, you can’t beat this dining option in Medellin.

Walk there in a hundred seconds, be eating in under 10 minutes. It’s cheap and the combinations are nearly endless.

Mention this blog to get a free house-made drink with your purchase of a bowl.

Yacky Chan | Asian

yacky chan asian chinese food in poblado medellin

It’s kind of intimidating to enter. You’re not sure whether it’s a bar or a restaurant. It appears to be something like 5 levels high. Well, after three years and in preparation for this article, I entered. And, I’m glad I did. Delicious food and ambiance. Notice the attention to detail with the shark sushi dish..

Restaurante Mu | Ribs Only

Closed Temporarily

Confession: I still haven’t been here. The last time I stopped by, if I recall correctly, they are open only on Friday and Saturdays and only for something like a few hours.

Anyone been there? Should it stay on the list or be removed?

I like the idea of having a specialty. They ONLY serve ribs. That’s cool. And they must be tasty.

District 1 | Vietnamese

If you’re headed out to Laureles, I encourage you to visit this Vietnamese restaurant. It’s very good. And, if you want Vietnamese food, it’s one of your only choices. Being in Laureles, you won’t need a reservation.

The Carmen Trio | Carmen, Moshi, Don Diego

Remember when I talk about the hidden side of Provenza in my article about the best nightlife in Medellin? Well, in this hidden part you will find a series of three restaurants one after the other, all with the same owner, and all with delicious food and drink. That’s the upside. Downside is that they are almost always full and on the expensive side.

Carmen is the most famous of the trio, specializing in a fine dining experience. They receive the best ingredients of all the restaurants in Medellin in my opinion. The octopus was the best I’ve ever had. Carmen, surprise, is the owner.

Don Diablo – Fine dining steakhouse and contemporary bistro. They promote 100% grass fed Colombian beef. This has the nicest interior in my opinion. It’s a bit confusing, this is downstairs and Moshi is upstairs with the same entrance.

Moshi – A fusion between Japanese and Colombian food. I actually haven’t eaten here so if you do, please tell us in the comments how it was. Moshi is the cat’s name.

Sushi Bar – The final stop is the no-name sushi bar. You won’t find it on Google maps, but it is part of the same set of high-end restaurants because the waiter goes between the two locations (when you order a drink, they make it next door). There are only 8 seats in this place at the bar.

OCI + Panka | Peruvian + Japanese

Only recently did I realize these are two distint resturatns though they appear to the average person as siamosese twins. They’re definitely related.

OCI serves a modern, fancy menu that changes every 6 months. Basically everything is good.

Panka, technically to the right of OCI, describes itself as “Contemporary signature cuisine with a Nippon approach and a Peruvian trend.” Nippon is contemporary fancy person speak for Japan.

The bonus is that these two locations are about a hundred feet from The Belmonte Penthouse and even if it’s raining you can get the entrance with minimal water damage.

Espiritu | Top 25 Chef

appetizer main dish cowboy cut salad entree espiritu food dining novotel tesoro medellin view
I paid $71 for this, plus an algae/yuca appetizer. That’s five dishes; compare to what I got at La Providencia (below) for the same price.

Seven things I love about this restaurant: open kitchen, high-end design, live music is not too loud, views of Medellin, comfy chairs, all food comes from Colombia, 2-page food menu.

The chef owns a restaurant in Bogotá, El Chato, ranked #25 on the 2024 list of the world’s top 50 restaurants. These lists don’t affect me, as I know you get on them often by self-promotion and strategy rather than being a definitive list of all 100 million good restaurants in the world.

Espiritu is in the same class as Mamba Negra (not recommended for food) and La Providencia, but better.

Parrilla Dejame Q’ Te Cuente | Colombian BBQ

This one is a surprise, but you know me. I’m going to try to show you something different, whether it’s with my best cafes in Medellin or the best nightlife in Poblado article.

This winner is a more local choice with high-quality steaks. They’re consistent, they don’t show off. Simple and good. Not a good date selection for a gold digger.

La Cafetiere de Anita

white fish local colombian pacific coast anita fine dining medellin

To reiterate what I consider a good restaurant: fresh, high-quality ingredients, good service, and comfy chairs. Well, let me tell you a story. But first, you should know that my friend says it’s the ‘best restaurant in Medellin’ and a real hidden gem. Located behind a McDonald’s, hidden gem it is.

I like truffles, so when I saw white truffled ravioli on the menu, I asked if the truffle was real or artificial. I was assured it was real. But when I asked to see the bottle after eating the ravioli, two things were off. First, I was brought a black truffle bottle. White truffles are significantly more expensive and flavorful than black truffles. On top of that, the black truffle was an artificial flavor.

salad of rugula and ravioli with white truffle in poblado restaunte

To be fair, I’m sure this is not isolated behavior. I’m sure this happens in all restaurants, substituting the cheapest ingredient. I paid $75 for a salad, the raviolis, fish, and a creme bruele (one of the only establishments serving creme brulee). The menu was difficult to interpret with many specality ingredients. The most expensive thing on the menu is a Ribeye at $55.

On the Friday evening that I visited, the 2.5 hours I was there, I saw 5 full tables, in total.

Delirio | Mexican Fusion

delirio fine dining in provenza medellin
My good friend Laura accompanied me to Delirio. Here’s our appetizer and drink orders.

I was originally recommended this restaurant with locations in both Provenza and Laureles as a fine dining option. That it is not. However, it’s got an interesting menu. I ordered Spring Rolls and wonton tacos. But you’ll also find soups, salads, Asian dishes like noodles and rive, steaks, quesadillas, Mexican soup, bowls, and a nice seletion of desserts. Oveall, I liked this restaurant. I especially liked when my friend asked for her drink to go, they basically made her a new one with good presentation (it was one of the drinks with sweetener around the brim). That’s good attention to detail and the food was tasty. However, being in Medellin with a solid restaurant scene, Delirio is just another good restaurant without anything overly special for me.

404 Pizza House

Tonight was the second time I visited. I couldn’t remember whether I liked it or not the first time. I visited again based on a video I saw from the Medellin Buzz YouTube, to get some intel for this blog post about Medellin dining, and for the pic!

The caprese salad was the best I’ve ever had because they used smaller bite-sized tomates. More restaurants should copy this style. The housemade bread was also delicious and I opted to try and finish it over the pizza which was medicore.

The menu has plenty of other options from starter’s to pasta and chicken and calzones. Interestingly enough, there is a pizzeria next door who’s pizza looked tastier.

La Provincia | European Fine Dining

la providencia fine dining in medellin poblado good date spot views

La Providencia is a Medellin locally known restaurant in business since 1993. Unfortunately, there’s just not much to say about this restaurant, positively or negatively. I had tomato soup, a crab dish, a fish main entree, and churros dessert for $71, including tip.

Confused about the notoriety of this highly regarded restaurant, my Paisa friend said this is one of the only tablecloth restaurants in the city, so if that gets you going, this is your place.

They do have a vegetarian menu, and their dessert menu offers a dozen options, including crème brûlée. I opted for the churros with Arequipa and white chocolate/pistachio combo sauces.

Brutal – Steakhouse

brutal steakhouse in poblado santa fe milla de oro tomahawk

One of the few places that serves a tomahawk steak, although the best in the city goes to Restaurant Oku, but that could be my fault becuase I ordered it ‘tres-quartos’, which is medium well, becuase the last time I ordered it medium, it was undercooked. This one was overcooked, maybe due to my fault, but steakhouses need to get their ‘terminos’ right! Anyways, it was still tasty.

Cost: 500,000 COP (~$125). My dining partner friend gives it a five, which she clarifies is a good rating. I would agree. They’re doing everything right, but there’s not much of a reason to return often.

The Table of Regrets

ORAMA Rooftop | Colombian

Upon walking in, I was pleasantly surprised being located in Laureles. I came here based on a neat Instagram photo from someone I’m following. The initial impressiveness wore off soon. First, the digital-only menu is super basic. There was not one thing that piqued my interest.

Second, the music, as in most Colombian-owned establishments like Dos Santos, is too loud. Not a ‘lil bit loud, but like we could be in a nightclub loud.

Third, and most offensive, was when I talked to the receptionist. Being impressed, I wanted to know why this place was so popular. It was a packed house. The receptionist, without saying a word, looked up at me as if I was bothering her. I clarified if I was bothering her by asking if she was busy and she responded with: dime (it means “tell me”).

I asked a couple of questions, she gave limited answers. I thanked her for her time, and without saying a word, she gave me that look that girls give a guy when they’re rude to show their lack of interest. Only thing is, respectfully, she was unattractive, I was on a date, and there could be zero confusion in any potential misunderstanding my questions for hitting on her.

Tandoori Halal | Indian Pakistani

Sometimes foreigners are a little afraid of the water in Medellin. The water in Medellin is safe and drinkable. I even tested it. What you should be scared of is the Indian food here. Stay away. I threw up 4x starting about 2 hours after consuming a meal there, only attributable to food poisoning. In summary: not tasty, expensive, diarrhea and vomit.

Medellin Restaurant Recommendations – Runner Ups

Hangar M45 Azotea – This aviation-themed restaurant in Medellin is pretty cool and it’s in an authentic neighborhood called Manrique. Check out their Instagram here.

Casa de Nadie – by the same owner of Mamba Negra – a restaurant with a lot more fanfare than fabulous food – this restaurant is just ok. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just nothing special. Menu is fine. View is fine. But that means it’s a dime-a-dozen. I want to see something different about your restaurant. What makes you different? Why would I return?

Mamba Negra – Excellent atmosphere vibes, although music is too loud, nice Medellin views while dining, mediocre service and fare.

Malevo – Argentinian steakhouse with reasonable prices in the Manila neighborhood and popular with foreigners. They have watermelon juice!

Conclusion – Medellin Restaurants

Before I let you go, I must add one last-minute, super-authentic Colombian restaurant to this list. It’s called Marmaleo and it’s beautiful, the setting and the food.

My good Colombian friend Martin took me there. I definitely wouldn’t have found it without him, and even if I had, I’m unsure if I would have driven up the long, dark, sketchy, driveway into what surely I would have thought is a Colombian druglords Finca.

So good it gets two photos. This is the entrance:

marmoleo best colombian finca restaurant

Now that we’ve got the pluses out of the way, let’s discuss the negatives.

There’s really only one thing missing from the Medellin food scene, and it’s so basic and it’s so sad and I miss it: Mexican Street Tacos. The only tacos you’ll find here are the fancy-schmancy ones.

Yo! Shout out to Medellin restaurant chefs and entrepreneurs: we want simple tacos. Tortilla, onion, cilantro, and meat. Get creative with the salsas. Throw me a dozen different salsas. I’m in.

When you come to Medellin, the Poblado neighborhood is where 95% of the best restaurants are. That makes it easy. They’re also going to be priced about 50% cheaper than their American neighbors.

Do you have a restaurant in Medellin that I should try and add to the list? I’ll see you in the comments.

No Longer Open, Unfortunately

Restaurante Ătica | Personalized Dining

The Google map location disappeared sometime in 2024.

Full disclosure, I haven’t actually been here, but the idea is too cool not to mention. If you have been or go based on this article, let us know how it is in the comments.

Picture this: you walk into a nondescript restaurant in a random neighborhood. Looks average by all measures. But, something seems amiss when the waiter tells you there is no menu and the chef will be with you shortly.

Ten minutes later the chef comes out and asks you a few pointed questions among some light conversation. He then tells you what he’s going to cook for you based on your preferences.

Or, if you’re feeling adventurous (and, you’re already in Colombia so you’re probably feeling adventurous), you can just trust his judgment and be surprised with a meal in twenty minutes.

This Medellin restaurant might be closed. I’m investigated where the new location is, there must be!

This was a recent discovery of mine, a small walk-up location on the walking street of Provenza, they service delicious fast-food Chinese. Highly recommended the branded Kung Food Edamame and the Bao dessert.

Basically, everything is tasty on this menu besides the dumplings. They’re bland.

Next door, and by the same owner, you’ll find a Taqueria if that suits your fancy.
