Stockholm, Sweden

(Mid-2017, 1 WEEK)

  • Friendliest people I’ve ever encountered. Anyone I’ve talked to from cops to randoms on the street to waitress to cashier is overly helpful. On the street people will acknowledge you with a smile or verbal greeting. At the gym, I asked a lady two questions as it was my first time, she answered them and came up later to apologize for being short with me because it was leg day. This blew my mind, apologizing to me for not giving a stranger more of your time? LOL
  • Everything is super expensive, dry cleaning of a jacket $20, protein bar $3.50, nice lunch $50, etc. Literally, everything is more expensive.
  • Lots of beautiful women
  • Most businesses open between 8–10am. I wake up at 6am so find it hard if I want to eat out.
  • Gyms make you wear gym only shoes, no outdoor shoes.
  • The 7–11’s are actually candy shops. 90% candy/sweets, unbelievable, had to find anything else. Even the protein bars are as close to a candy bar as I’ve ever seen.
  • Only 1 casino owned by the government and you have to pay 80SEK just to enter

Known For: Ikea, northern lights

I choose the items below as they’re generally available everywhere. Thus, easy for comparison. The prices reflect the cheapest option given my standard. In any estination you can find slightly cheaper prices if you wanted to sacrifice convenience (ie going to local market or out-of-town grocery store).
