Welcome to my The 1-Page Marketing Plan book summary!
One-Sentence-Summary: The goal of this book is to get you the Pareto principle efficiency of the Pareto principle (20% of inputs result in 80% of outputs), or knowledgeable about the 4% of inputs (20% of 20%) that results in 64% (20% of the 80%) of the outputs for marketing your business.
booboo real-time book rating: ★★★★☆ (percentage of books with this rating: 34%)
This book is good and average at the same time. Many chapters are general and vague, but there are other bits of information worth the price and time of this book.

Airbnb hosts with less than 15 properties.
“..marketing is the strategy you use for getting your ideal target market to know you, like you and trust you enough to become a customer.” (p. 9)
Prior Airbnb employee reveals the keys to success.
I teach you how to make Airbnb work for you/your Airbnb profitable and hassle free
How to rank #1 in Airbnb search by former Airbnb employee.
Financial Freedom through Airbnb
“..one ad, one objective.” (p. 40)
The weakest chapter so far. The author only discusses social media, email marketing, snail mail and suggests you hire an expert for paid marketing which I vehemently disagree with unless you have a large budget and long runway. I recommend you read my $100M Leads by Alex Hormizo summary.
You are reading my book review and summary by Allan Dib. Be sure to check out my digital bookshelf for 100+ book summaries.
“Rather than trying to sell directly from your ad, simply invite prospects to put their hand up and indicate interest.” (p. 40)
Key point: do not use the ad to sell, only to capture relevant leads by offering an ‘ethical bribe’
Get a CRM, but no advice was given on how to choose one.

“The first major motivators for human behavior, especially buying behavior, are:
Lumpy mail is a great suggestion. If your margins are high-end, and you can target physical addresses, then sending them something in snail mail with a 3d object to make it lumpy and thus get it opened with handwriting the address on the front is best.
“..if someone else can do it 80% as good as you can, then you should delegate it.” (p. 117)
This blog contains both my summary and review of the book The 1-Page Marketing Plan.
10% of your customers would pay you 10x more and 1% would pay 100x more.
“The entire goal of your USP [unique selling proposition] is to answer this question: Why should I buy from you rather than fro your nearest competitor?” (p. 43)
General notes. Again I point you to my top-ranked book review of $100M Leads by Alex Hormizo summary.
Did you know I’m an author? I wrote four books on real estate investing, travel, and language learning.
“I’d give you this piece of general advice: hire experts that specialize in whatever media you decide is right for your campaign – they’re worth their weight in gold” (p. 73). The good ones are. And most are average. You’ll need to have a healthy budget to hire the best in class to get results. I say this as someone who has hired numerous marketing types. The bar is low to market yourself as a marketing guru.
Things to measure: leads, conversion rate, average transaction value
Obiovus, but needing a reminder: “Keeping a constant watch on your key numbers is one of the best ways of managing your business and making sure that things are heading in the right direction.” (p. 183)
“A better option than discounting is to increase the value of your offering. Bundling in bonuses, increasing quantities or adding peripheral services can be of genuine value to your customer but cost you very little to do.” (p. 137)
Premise: you must ask for referrals from customers and do so in a way that gives them a benefit to recommend your company.
Also, this is about where the customer was before and after your service and think about creating a partnership.
“Products make your money, systems make you a fortune.” (p. 158)
