RIP Steve Jobs. You left 30-40 years too early. You changed personal computers, music, and phones. Had you stayed with us, you would have changed so much more. A dire farewell.
“Pretend to be completely in control and people will assume that you are.”
About the educational system in America: “I encountered authority of a different kind than I had ever encountered before, and I did not like it. And they really almost got me. They came close to really beating any curiosity out of me.”
Stever Jobs was influenced by the book Be Here Now. Related quote: “If you just sit and observe, you will see how restless your mind is. If you try to calm it, it only makes it worse, but over time it goes calm, and when it does, there’s room to hear more subtle things – that’s when your intuition starts to blossom and you start to see things more clearly and be in the present more.”
I find this quote particularly interesting: “When you have feelings like sadness or anger about your caner or your plight, to mask them is to lead an artificial life.” Emotions are bad in our society. If you get overly angry and get into a fight you are sent to jail. If you go through a phase of depression, you get prescribed drugs for the rest of your life. If you totally freak out once, you get judged and sent to a psychologist. No. It’s normal to have extreme emotions and even extended period emotions. They make you stronger, but it seems out society wants to be in the happy zone 100% of the time and would prefer to take drugs for life to keep themselves there.
Did you know I’m an author? I wrote four books on real estate investing, travel, and language learning.
