Diverse Sport Riding Techniques

Welcome to my Sport Riding Techniques book summary!

“..any idiot can accelerate hard..” (p. 44)

One-Sentence-Summary: coming..

I’m currently reading Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch. Current page: 66/115

booboo real-time book rating: ★★★★☆ (percentage of books with this rating: 34%)

Braking: progressive application, get familiar with how hard you can brake (maximally) before lockup. Front brake provides 70-90% of braking power

Vision: keep the eyes up (your tendency is to keep them near the front wheel), look through corners, scan

Grip: you must keep a relaxed grip, a stiff grip introduces wobble and instability

Foot Placement: balls of feet on pegs

Turning

Coming out of turns: slow throttle, bike stands up much easier

Tight turns can be made by falling/leaning slightly off your bike with your body weight

Shifting your body weight to one side, will turn the bike that way (try without hands) – more body, less lean angle

Throttle: slower actions at faster speeds, don’t accelerate in a turn, but you can have maintenance throttle and coming out of the turn you can accelerate (after the apex)

Blip: help the clutch by giving a blip throttle (quick on/off) when downshifting

100-points are divided between acceleration and turning/cornering, a tight turn may take 97 points for turning to maintennacet throttle should be at 3.

This blog will contain both my summary and review of the book Sport Riding Techniques.
