Summary: I was excited to come here. Typically this would be a hidden gem city as it's passed up by nearly 100% of tourism in favor of Sao Paulo just an hour away. What a hidden gem is to me, is a big city with little tourism making the process of meeting people much easier. But this city is DEAD. I'm in Cambuí, the premier neighborhood, and it's silent. I have 6 pools I can see from my balcony in other buildings and I have seen zero people using any in the month I've been here. Few people walk on the streets. Even the shopping malls are quiet. I wasn't able to meet anyone online, randomly in a cafe or on the street, or in the gym.

I took a silent thinking retreat in the countryside for a couple days.

Brazil has the highest proportion in the world of super fit, hot women 40+ (way more than Colombia)
Maybe the best university in all of Latin America: UNICAMP (also produces the most patents in Brazil)...also PUC is known
