I stayed in Iluka Villas, which are nice 2-level Airbnbs with a private pool, BBQ, and kitchen, January 16-18. It was located next to Palmalinda, which seems like a cheaper yet popular hotel option if you're looking for a party vibe. The town was somewhat quiet in terms of crowds. Everything closes at 9pm. Outside of high season, Saturdays are the only busy days. This is a purely touristy destination with limited variety. For example, if you want fish, the only option is fried. One rundown gym. There are no coffee shops or shopping malls. I found one outdoor nightclub. Basic restaurants and grocery stores. Getting drunk or a massage will be no problem. There are some luxury options, given the popularness of the destination with Colombians. The overall vibe is laidback and pleasant. That whole stretch of beach between Coveñas and Tolú is dotted with hotels and restaurants. Boca de la Ciénaga is popular.
